I celebrate people and places. I look for the unique appeal of each subject as well as fresh perspectives, visual juxtaposition and connected moments that please the eye and heart.
Due to my background in movies, I tend to do work that is cinematic in feel- each image wants to feel real, be telling a story, and be lit in a way that looks believable yet enhanced.
Through my photographs I try to communicate what is beautiful, real, contradictory, and sometimes glorious... and create narratives that are accessible whether the story is 'right there' or bubbling below the surface.
Currently based in San Francisco, I arrived here after a culturally rich upbringing in NYC. I've lived and traveled around the world as both a photographer and cinematographer, and many of these multi-layered cultural and cinematic influences form the foundation for the work I create today.
